TSECET - 2015 Eligibility Criteria for admission

1. Entrance Test: A Common Entrance Test d esignated in full as Engineering Common Entrance Test for Diploma Holders Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy and for B.Sc.(Mathematics) Degree Holders and in short as ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)] - 2015 will be conducted by JNT University Hyderabad on behal f of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education for the academic year 2015 - 2016 in accordance with G.O.Ms.No:24 Education (EC) Department dated:18.03.2004, G.O.Ms.No:25, dated:28.06.2006 and G.O.Ms.No:19, dated: 02.02.2008 for Diploma Holders and G.O. Ms.No.57 (EC2) dated:12.05.2008 & G.O.Ms.No58(EC2) dated:12.05.2008 for B.Sc.(Mathematics) degree holders, G.O.Ms 49 dated 04 - 06 - 2011 & G . O . M s. 15(EC) dated 18.8.2014
 (i) For l ateral admission into 2 nd year regular B.E. / B.Tech . Courses in both University an d Un - aided Private Professional Institu tions (Minority & Non - Minority) approve d by All India Council for Technical Education
(ii) For lateral admission into 2 nd year r egular B. Phar m. Course in both University and private un - Aided professional institutions ( Minority & Non - Minority) approved by Pharmacy Council of India. 

Note: B.Sc. (Mathematics) D egree holders are not eligible for admission into B.Pharm . Course.

2. Eligibility Criteria to appear for ECET - 201 5 :

Candidates should satisfy the following requiremen ts to be eligible for appearing at the ECET [FDH & B.Sc . ( Mathematics)] - 2015. 
(i) They should be of Indian Nationality. 
(ii) They should belong to the State of Telangana/ Andhra Pradesh . The candidates should satisfy local/nonlocal status requirements as laid down in the Telangana Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended. The same is adapted to the state of Telangana G . O . M s. 33 dated 31.12.2014 
(iii) They should have obtained a Diploma in Engineering / Technology/ Pharmacy from th e State Board of Technical Education of Telangana State/ Andhra Pradesh or any other Diploma recognized by the Government of Telangana/ Andhra Pradesh as equivalent there to for admission into the relevant B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Pharm . Courses corresponding to th e Diplomas as given in the following Annexure – IV. . (OR) They should have passed the 3 - year B.Sc Degree examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the group combination from a recognized University in the Telangana/Andhra Pradesh state or its e quivalent for entry into relevant courses as given in the following Annexure - IV . 
(iv) Candidates who are pursuing a Diploma course shall be eligible for entry into the relevant B.E./B.Tech./B. Pharmacy courses provided they have completed the practical traini ng prescribed for the award of diploma course before admission into the college. 
(v) Candidates should have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology/ Pharmacy/ B.Sc . (Mathematics) Degree as the case may be with at least 45% marks (40% in case of can didates belonging to reserved category) for entry into relevant courses. 

3. Eligibility for admission into B.E ./B.T ech ./B.P harm .:

 (1) For lateral admission into 2 nd year regular B.E. / B.Tech . Courses in both University and Un - Aided Private Professional institut ions (Minority & non - Minority) approved by All India Council for Technical Education . 
(2) For lateral admission into 2 nd year Regular B. Pharmacy Courses in both University and private un - Aided professional institutions (Minority & Non - Minority) approved by Pharmacy Council of India. Candidates should have appeared and qualified at the ECET - 2015. Mere appearance at the Entrance Test does not automatically entitle a candidate to be considered for entry into any course unless the candidate satisfies the requir ement of eligibility and other criteria laid down in the rules of admission. Admission to 85% of the seats in each course shall be reserved for the local candidates and the remaining 15% of the seats shall be un - reserved seats as specified in the Telangan a and Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations and Admissions) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended.

(3) Qualifying marks in ECET [FDH & B.Sc . ( Mathematics)] - 2015. 

The qualifying percentage marks for obtaining a rank in ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathem atics)] - 2015 is 25% of the aggregate marks in the four subjects (three subjects for B.Sc. Mathematics) i.e., 50 marks out of a total of 200. However, in the case of SC/ST candidates, there shall be no minimum qualifying marks for ranking the candidates. Th e rank obtained with the benefit of relaxation of the minimum qualifying marks at the ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)] - 2015 by any candidate claiming to belong to SC/ST category will be cancelled in case the claim is found to be invalid at the time of admis sion. 

(4) Evaluation and ranking in ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)] - 201 5 : 

(i) The student will be ranked (Integrated Merit Rank) based on the marks obtained by him/her in the ECET [FDH & B.Sc . ( Mathematics)] - 2015 Examination. 
(ii) Every care will be taken to avoid errors in valuation, checking, scrutiny, tabulation and ranking. Hence request for re - totalling , revaluation or personal identification of scripts will in no case be entertained. Candidates will be ranked in the order of merit in ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathema tics)] - 201 5 separately in each branch of Engineering Course. 
(iii) As per Government Order all Diploma holders in any branch of Engineering/Technology, who qualify in ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)] - 201 5 are eligible for admission into B.Tech. Information Techno logy and Computer Science and Engineering branches. The Integrated Merit Rank is for admission into B.Tech. Information Technology Course. The Integrated Merit Rank is based on the total marks obtained in ECET [FDH & B.Sc . ( Mathematics)] - 201 5 by candidates with Diploma in any branch of Engineering/Technology.
(iv) (a) Engineering: In case of a tie in aggregate, the marks obtained in Engineering subject, and in case of further tie the marks obtained in the Mathematics subject and if the tie still continues, the m arks obtained in physics subject will be taken into account to decide the relative ranking. In case of candidates getting equal marks in each of the four subjects, they will be bracketed for the purpose of award of rank. Age of the candidate will be consid ered at the time of admission for resolving the tie, the older candidate being given preference. 
(b) Pharmacy: Candidates will be ranked on the basis of merit in ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)] - 2015. In case of tie the percentage of marks secured in the qu alifying examination will be taken into consideration. On further tie, age will be taken into consideration; the older candidate will be given priority. 
c) B.Sc.(Mathematics): Candidates will be ranked based on the marks obtained in the entrance examina tions. In case of a tie in aggregate the marks obtained in Mathematics subject and in case of further tie the aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination shall be taken into account to resolve the tie 
(v) The rank cards will be posted to t he candidates address as given in the application
